Oscar®-nominated documentarian Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man, Cave of Forgotten Dreams) chronicles the virtual world from its origins to its outermost reaches, exploring the digital landscape with the same curiosity and imagination he previously trained on earthly destinations. Herzog leads viewers on a journey through a series of provocative conversations that reveal the ways in which the online world has transformed how virtually everything in the real world works - from business to education, space travel to healthcare, and the very heart of how we conduct our personal relationships.

The Beat Goes On...
Herzog, one of the world's great film documentarians/commentors, has taken on the Internet. What you are doing now is enjoying it.
Dozens of good reviews were done of "Lo and Behold..." It seems only fitting to just use the web to discuss the web, doesn't it?
A good start, I suggest if you wish, is...
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/oct/27/lo-and-behold-reveries-of-the-connected-world-review-herzogs-sombre-look-at-the-digital-revolution
Bradshaw offers some opinion of his own, and of course, those who know and love Herzog know, he's like Simon Schama and Robert Hughes, and of course Martin Scorsese...certainly filled with wisdom with opinion... and in these scholars and so many more, I suggest "all to the good of intellectual discourse"... what great thinker has not got opinions?
But to try to summarize or offer an adequate final evaluation of the change to the human race of the internet? Go look it up...
I'd like to offer my thought via McLuhan. The Global Village is ultimately seeking both global tribalism (the extended family, or as it truly is, the Family of Man (please be kind) and... ultimate knowledge/mental telepathy. And in that sense of all-knowing/all-the-time... the internet and global tv are getting closer to the grail of all-commune-I- cation, all the time. Isn't it?
Enjoy Lo and Behold. Reveries is what Herzog is so good at. A good book-end, the beginnings, so to speak, is of course CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS of 2010. Not here at INTERNET ARCHIVE, but do see it, when you can.
And finally, here on INTERNET ARCHIVE, your International Local Library of the Internet, here's Herzog himself in great conversation. ENJOY!
